Description

Der Lagunennebel sowie der Trifidnebel sind Sternentstehungsgebiete, welche eingebettet in den großen Dunkelwolken der Milchstraße sind. Die Dunkelnebel, welche zum größten Teil aus Wasserstoff bestehen, absorbieren das Licht dahinter liegender Sterne. Dagegen leuchtet der Lagunennebel, weil der Wasserstoff durch Ultraviolettstrahlung von hellen und jungen Sternen zum Leuchten angeregt wird.
