Description

This rarely imaged object is a series of dark nebulae located in the constellation of Ophiuchus, at a declination of -12 degrees. From top left to lower right, these nebulae are LDN 191, LDN 204, and LDN 234. LDN 234 is the darkest and, in my opinion, the prettiest.

Despite my best efforts, I couldn't dig up any interesting information on these nebulae. They are simply beautiful dark dust clouds.

This area of the southern sky contains a lot of stars, which provides an interesting backdrop to silhouette the dark dust clouds.
