I have been photographing landscape or wide field astrophotography for over a year.  I got the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer tracker to shoot the solar eclipse but realized that it could open up new vistas for me in deep space. I want to try deep space photography without a telescope first as I  have seen some great images  done with a 400mm camera lens. I have a 5d Mk IV and a Sony a6500. My question is this: I have an old 5D mkIII and an extra Sony a6500 and I am thinking of doing an Ha modification on one of these cameras. Which one would you suggest I modify?  For long lenses, I have a Canon 300mm f4 and 70-200mm 2.8 plus the latest 1.4 tele-converter. For the Sony I have their newest 100-400mm 4.5 - 5.6 and their 1.4 converter. Of course, the Sony is APSC, so the effective length is 1.5 times the noted length. I understand that Canon may be the way to go because of the available software. In addition, I am not sure that the star eating problem extends to the a6500 or just the A7 series. Thanks for any input and thank you all for sharing your images and info.Efrain Sain
