In my opinion, BackYard EOS is the best value in capture software on th emarket for astrophotography with Canon EOS DSLRs. Very affordable, very easy to use, very well supported, very difficult to find anything negative to say about it.

Yes Backyard eos is a quality bit of software and is so intuitive it takes no more than 5mins to get up and running.Plenty of added extras such as links to local weather,dither with phd,live view etc etc

I started using BackyardEOS last year after seeing it mentioned on a forum. I'd tried APT but, to my mind, BackyardEOS has a much more intuitive interface. The author is always approachable on the Yahoo group and is always happy to help and listen to suggestions. Version 2.1 is currently being beta tested and includes ASCOM focuser, filter wheel and telescope control. The icing on the cake for me though is that integration with Astrotortilla has now been achieved. If you've not tried AT, do so. You'll wonder how you managed without it!

I find BYE to be indispensable over time. I am yet to find another software which will over shadow BYEOS.

Affordable and makes DSLR imaging a breeze.
