Back in the 1970s, when I was a teenager, my fascination with Astronomy began. I acquired an 8" F/7 Newtonian with a customized mount made from water pipes - quite an investment for my parents at $180. I will forever appreciate their encouragement and support. In those early days, my astrophotography was developed in a friend's darkroom. My obsession with galaxies started back then, and to this day, I find anything related to the Milky Way - the Moon, our solar system, nebulas, Elon Musk's ventures - to be mere distractions from the truly fascinating aspects of the Universe.
