Description

This is my first attempt at a wide field Mono LUM + OSC RGB mosaic. The beautiful southern sky is host to the outer spiral arm of the Milky Way and some very iconic nebula regions. From the dark nebula of the Coalsack and Dark Doodad nebula's, to the bright Eta Carina nebula, the Running Chicken and Statue of Liberty nebula's, to the filamentous Vela supernova remnant this is a truly amazing piece of sky. This is a 5-panel mosaic image.

Lum imaged with ASI183MM combined with a Radian Triad filter to bring out the nebulosity and keep star size under control. RGB with the 294MC OSC and Baader Semi-APO filter to keep the colours accurate.

Sub's were

LUM: 5min unity gain, 1hr 20min per panel

RGB: 1min, Gain240, 60min per panel
