Description

For the first time, APOD not only honors an image, but an entire project written by Matipon Tangmatitham, who also made this composition and processing. This is the scientific work on the meteoroid impact during the total lunar eclipse on January 21 2019. Eight images were selected worldwide that were used for the calculations and it makes me a little proud that mine is included. The work is also published in the Oxford Royal Astronomical Society. It's a showcase project for the collaboration of professional and amateur astronomers.
