Description

NGC 7479 (Caldwell 44) is a barred spiral galaxy 106 million light years away in the constellation of Pegasus. It was first observed by William Herschel on 19 October 1784. It occupies 3.9' x 3.0' of the night sky.

NGC 7479 was photographed in Autumn 2019 using a dual TEC 140 rig located in the Haut Alpes, The imaging team is Tom O'Donohue, Olly Penrice, Steve Milne & Elisabeth Milne.

Filters: Baader, Astrodon and Chroma
Mount: Mesu 200

Lum 18 x 900s
Red: 9 x 900s
Green: 6 x 900s
Blue: 6 x 900s

A total of 9 hours and 45 minutes exposure.

The final image was cropped (by around a third) to emphasise the galaxy a bit more in the frame.
