Description

NGC4565 is a giant spiral about 50M LY distant and is more luminous than the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) which is at ~2M LY is much closer. 240 globular clusters have been counted in NGC4565, many more than in our Milky Way. NGC4562 is a barred spiral to the bottom right, possibly interacting with NGC4565. IC3546 is a nice spiral to the top right.
