This was taken from home through an open window (no balcony on that side) with a ToUCam webcam on the primary focus of a 50 mm f:10 achromat set on a tripod, untracked. I took two AVIs, one each for the northern and southern portions of the Moon as it drifted through the field of view.
AviStack2 happened not to read the AVIs made by wxAstroCapture, so I first extracted their frames to PNGs with VirtualDub. Two stacked images were stitched together with Hugin and postprocessed with AviStack2 and GIMP (at its version 2.6 back then)... probably in that order. Postprocessing involved, I think, wavelets in AviStack plus curves and color saturation adjustment and probably unsharp masking in GIMP.

Revision B is a preview of a not yet done full reprocess. 175 frames have been doubled in size during extraction by VirtualDub, which is a rather slow business (0.5 frames per second for a mere 640x480 original size!), with bicubic interpolation. Preprocessing, stacking, wavelets and levels with AviStack2; then to Siril for green noise reduction and deconvolution.
Now to find a smoother way to resize the frames (extract with FFmpeg and resize with GIMP in batch mode, possibly) and dust off Hugin.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
