Description

Mars on Wed 18 Nov 2020 UTC.

Consistently good seeing allowed me to record nearly 2.5 hours of data tracking progress of Valles Marineris dust storm. This is the first of two best WinJUPOS periods combining 21,100 frames over 40 minutes - 8:43 to 9:23 pm ADST.

Canyon is rotating into view with the dust front spreading south over Mare Erythraeum and the Argyre Basin. The clouds have a distinctly pale yellow-grey appearance as the morning breaks, southern extremities are bluish in colour. Terminator projection noticed by other imagers is visible at the 8 pm position in the north up image.

To the east Sinus Meridiani is still free of the storm.
