Description

NGC 4631 also known as The Whale Galaxy, located in the constellation Canes Venatici, it is estimated that between 25 and 30 million light years separate it from us. Observing it edge-on gives us the feeling of seeing the silhouette of a whale, the tail would be to our right in this image, curiously, like a whale, this galaxy floats through intergalactic space. NGC 4627 the small elliptical galaxy that we can see in the image just above NGC-4631 is one of the galaxies guilty of deforming this galaxy due to gravitational interaction, proof of this is that the nucleus of the galaxy is displaced to one side.

It has been acquired from the remote observatory Deep Sky West in Rowe New Mexico, where my dear friends and fellow fans Jim Y Linda Powell has hosted and pilot a great team.
Thank you very much, dear friends.
