Description

Southern shores of Sinus Iridum with Promontorium Heraclides projecting southeastward into Mare Imbrium shown at bottom. The two largest craters are (Left: Mairan (40km wide), and Right: Sharp (39km wide) that formed when meteorites slammed into Montes Jura. Smooth mare of Oceanus Procellarum to the north, cut by Rima Sharp.
