Description

Here is my version of the Helix nebula in Narrowband with RGB stars.

The Famous Helix Nebula, The Eye of God is probably one of the most photographed planetary nebula out there so it is always a bit daunting to attempt this target and do it justice.

My goal was to squeeze as much detail as possible within the core of the "iris" and balance the out layer of the nebula which is extremely faint

This is probably the target I have captured the most data for on a single frame thus far with a good deal of it in Ha to bring out the outer shell of nebula as much as possible. Saying that capturing 40h of data on this target was difficult is an under statement... This season has pretty bad here in Melbourne and I have data spanning from July through to October on this target... thankfully it is very high in the sky where I am so I happy to put this to rest now...

I have decided to go with a square crop of the original 4:3 of the 1600mm for the final version of this image as it looks better to my eyes this way
