Description

Quick integration on IC 2944, better known as the Running Chicken Nebula.

IC 2948 is the central cluster near Lambda Centauri (the bright star), but it's commonly associated with the surrounding nebulosity. It's quite bright, but not easy to capture from the city without the aid of narrowband filters.

This one is a variation of the HOO palette that I call HHOO. It uses an HOO color layer with an 3H-O luminosity layer, creating that pinkish look that enhances the nebulosity quite considerably.

Weather made the stars look... subpar... to put it mildly. I got a lot of unpredicted wind. A long story, but I decided to power through the windstorm and see what happens. I captured almost 4 hours of data, but I had to throw a lot of it.
