Description

This is my first try to process raw Pillars of Creation data from HLA(Hubble Legacy Archive) WFC3.

I took the inspiration from Wissam Ayoub image:

Processing:

1) Download data, for this step its an initial copy from Wissam comment:

Go to https://hla.stsci.edu/hlaview.html

Search for LBN67, then choose the images column,

Look for the Ha, OIII and SII master files:

2) Download fits liberator.

3) Open each file in fits liberator, change strech function to ArcSinh(x)

I was using these parameters:

Background level = 0.18

Peak level = 4.35

Scaled peak level = 50.00

Save each of the files as 16bit tif.

4) Open all 3 files in PixInsight

I've combined frames using PixelMath by this formula:

R=iif(Sii>0.1,Sii,(Ha*0.7))

G=iif(Ha>0.7,1.0-(1.0-Oiii)*(1.0-(Ha-0.3)),Oiii*(Ha+0.7))

B=iif(Oiii>0.1,Oiii,(Ha*0.3)+(Oiii*0.2))
