Description

NGC 2903 is an isolated barred spiral galaxy in the equatorial constellation of Leo.

This galaxy is located between 20 million and 30 million light-years away from the Milky Way (depending on source), and is a member of the Virgo Supercluster. 72% of the stellar mass is located in the outer disk of the galaxy, and 20% is found in the bar.

In size, it is just a little smaller than the Milky Way. Some images show a great number of hot spots in the core, and others show a great deal more blue in the outer arms.
