Description

This is an interesting group of objects in Ursa Major, of which 3 of the 4 are visible in amateur telescopes, all in one field of view.

M40 (Winnecke 4) is a double star, and possibly cataloged by mistake by Charles Messier.

PGC 39934, a small 17th magnitude galaxy, just barely visible near the center of the digital image, is likely not visible in most amateur telescopes.
