Description

Asteroid 7482 is cataloged as a "potentially hazardous asteroid" due to its size and relatively close Earth flybys.  A direct impact from an asteroid this size would be devastating for the entire planet.  I went out to keep an eye on it just in case somebody forgot to carry the one.

Asteroid 7482

Diameter:  .6 miles (the dinosaur comet was 7.5 miles wide)
Distance:  1.2 million miles (5x as far away as the moon)
Speed:  43,754 mph

I shot 70 30sec images (through some passing clouds) and combined them into the short clip you see here.
