Description

One of the most difficult subjects ever taken from my "bright" balcony. M106, spiral galaxy located in the constellation of the hunting dogs, distant about 23 million light years from our solar system. Its flat position allows us to observe its core where a supermassive black hole resides (with a mass about 36 million times greater than the Sun), its spirals rich in HII zones and the disc of dark dust outside. It spans approximately 30,000 light years.
