AT8IN and G11 unguided imaging setup

Description

My AT8IN setup indoors on the G11/Gemini-2 as if doing imaging. The new Losmandy compact power supply is resting on top of the camera case along with the Gemini-2 HC tactile keys up. I find the tactile keys easier to use when centering the image.

The intervalometer is hanging from my dead Canon 350D. Along side it you can see the dumbell weights suspended from a cord wrapped around the RA axis to ensure I always have an east heavy bias. I have been experimenting with different amounts of weight, the old G11 low torque motors can easily handle the 5 pounds shown. You want enough weight to resist bounce from disturbances such as wind but not so much that the motor labors. I balance the mount with camera on and the cord/weights off with no bias, then add the weights.

For this picture I replaced the 8x50 finder scope that came with the AT8IN with the red dot finder that came with my Celestron 102GT refractor. This is a little easier to use and does not affect balance.
