Description

The planetary nebula NGC5189 in the southern constellation of Musca at ~3000 light years away and ~ 3 light years wide. Also nicknamed the Spiral Planetary Nebula because of its unusual spiral, loopy shape that's quite a deviation from the more typical outward-radiating layered bubble-like morphology more commonly associated with planetary nebulas. But like most planetary nebulas, it has a small angular size at ~3 arc minutes, which typically means not much in the way of the fine, crispy details due to aperture and atmospheric limitations.
