Looking at my first iteration I noticed that I had lost a lot of the small scale detail as I tried to bring out the dust. I decided to create a secondary image in parallel to my first by focusing more on preserving the small scale features so the dark clouds do not look like ink blotches on pieces of paper.
At some point I'll find a proper technique to enhance large scale structures without affecting the small scale details so negatively. I know that others already know how to do it, but what is the fun in discovery if I rely on someone else to do it for me
Taking a quick break from the main Cygnus mosaic, I thought I would head over to image another part of the region that will eventually become yet another piece of the aforementioned project.
Thoughts and criticisms welcome. It was a tough one process because of the faint emission nebulae, and the darker clouds that surround it. I'm definitely planning on adding at least another 4h worth of data to bring up the fainter signal without having to push so hard and to clean up the noise.
