Description

Wanting to decrease the noise levels this summer, I added a Peltier chip (TEC1-12706 purchased for about $6 on Amazon) to my DSI IIc camera after milling off the back of the heat sink. The new heat sink/fan combo was purchased for $5 at a used computer parts place (I went through their bin looking for the lightest one I could find). The cooler is powered by a 2 A power supply with variable voltage (that was about $35 at a local electronics supply store). This rig gets between 10-15 °C below ambient with the camera running. I've ordered another Peltier that is a little better matched to my power supply in hopes of doing a little better.
