Description

A small and pretty globular from the southern skies, embedded like a jewel within a rich background of galactic stars, this cluster is located about 6,000 light years away - one of the nearest of these 'mini universes' to us. Some blue supergiants, which give it its name, are associated with the group and probably formed from stellar collisions. It bears a similarity to the more famous M4 in Scorpius.
