Description

My image of this beautiul image of the night sky. Now, a close up of this stunning Cloud Complex. The bright yellow star is Antares, Alpha Scorpii; and the blue star due left is Rho Ophiuchi. This set is, in my opinion, far from perfect.

This was planned to be a 30 minutes set (30x60s lights); but, in the 8th light frame, I unfortunately bumped into the Dew Heater Power Suply Cable. The Dew Heater was wrapped around the front element of my 70-200mm Lens... and, for my lens, around the Focus Ring. When the Dew Heater was pulled, the focus ring rotated just a bit, but the images were completely unusable. I dind't noticed until finishing the set, when the last picture was taken and I saw on my camera screen that the stars were out of focus.

So, this set became just a 7-frame set, only 7 minutes of integration! This is amost 1/5th of what would be necessary to show up the details in all those Dust Areas. The result wasn't as expected, once I had to really stretch the image to show details. But, one lesson was learned: Always take care of your's dew heater cord!

Camera: Unmodded T4i/650D at ISO 1600

Lens: Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8, at 200mm and f/3.2

Exposure Detail: 7x60s; or 7x1min; total 7 minutes.

*The -B- version of this image was stretched even more to show a bit more of details (but lots of noise)*

*The -C- version is a crop of the Antares M4 Area, in my opinion, the "best" part of my image*
