Further experiments with PixInsight using Orion Data from 28.12.13. This time investigating debayering the raw subs first rather than letting the default loading do it. Also experimenting with Atrous wavelet noise reduction.
This uses SuperPixel debayer where each RGGB sensel group is combined into a single RGB image pixel. This obviously reduces the sensor resolution by a factor of four but in theory gives a more accurate pixel value. To be honest I couldn't tell any major improvement over VNG debayer plus the resolution being reduced limits cropping opportunities).
Final curve adjustments done in LR.
