Description

A 30 minute time-lapse of Jupiter. Just as the shadow transit of Europa began, the transparency and seeing diminished, so only the first 4 or so frames are of nice quality. The two moons in the background are slightly further away than Jupiter in this animation, Europa on the other hand is closer to us and is even casting a shadow on the surface of the planet. On the right side of Jupiter is the Great Red Spot just about to go 'behind' the planet.

This also demonstrates the ease of having a 1/2" sized sensor rather than a more conventional 1/4" sized sensor. Io's entire orbit fits on the chip at a focal length of 4000mm.
