Description

The Cygnus Loop is a supernova remnant from a start that is estimated to have exploded approximately 7,000 years ago. The vast amount of gasses from the explosion continue to expand out into space and will continue to do so for a very long time.

To be honest, I'm a bit underwhelmed with the way this turned out. First, some of the narrowband details are still faint due to the light pollution from my back yard. Either way, the image is finished, at least for now. It's still a pretty field of view.

RGB frames were captured from Courtright Reservoir. H-Alpha and Oxygen-III frames were captured from my backyard.
