Description

S-L/9 impact sites on Jupiter Taken on July 1994 @Marcon 250mm C focus. Process of frames from a VHS videotape.

Comet Shoemaker–Levy 9 (D/1993 F2) was a comet that broke apart and collided with Jupiter in July 1994, providing the first direct observation of an extraterrestrial collision of Solar System objects.

I have been watching for a few days this interesting event with a 25cm telescope and taken some video on VHS, recently digitized. These images are the result with current treatments of lucky imaging techniques, 20 years apart.
