Full resolution (click to zoom) quick linkHopefully this image is going to be a part of a bigger project covering much of the cygnus area. This is a crowd image, made by combing 197 different images from 98 amateur telescopes. The images used were all Creative Commons licensed.
I didn't have enough images to cover as much of IC5068 as I would have liked to. Therefore I had to crop a little to much on the right side of the mirrored and rotated image. All images were combined into a single very large image. This was an experiment, as some images didn't over lap, eg. details of NGC7000 and IC5070. That works fine. There are still a few flaws at the edge of the field, but hopefully I'll be able to gather more images.
I'f youd like to participate with images to CI projects (jpg is fine), you can send me a PM, or leave a meassege below. The images don't need to be perfect! Thanks in advance. These images are only possible because of all the telescope work people share.
The exposure is an estimate based on 50 samples.
Btw. Some of the images used here were shot on 35 mm film! Nice!
