Description

M15 is a globular cluster in the constellation Pegasus. It is 33,000 ly distant and, at 12 billion years old, is the oldest known globular cluster. At magnitude 6.2, M15 approaches naked eye visibility under good conditions and can be observed with binoculars or a small telescope, appearing as a fuzzy star. M15 is approximately 180 ly in diameter and contains 100,000 stars. The cluster is notable for containing a large number of variable stars (112) and pulsars (8), including one double neutron star system. (Source: adapted from Wikipedia)

.

I captured this at ISO 1600 which caused diagonal streaks in the background. Mike Unsold of ImagesPlus showed me how to get rid of the streaks. Next time I try M15 it will be at ISO 400.

With my combination of telescope, camera and light pollution, this target is really too small to reveal much detail.
