Description

One of better single images taken at ISO 100 and 1/125 second exposures. The individual exposures varied greatly in sharpness. Converted to from raw CR2 to TIF file with Canon DPP, processed with StarTools. Set gamma to 0.50 to darken background to reveal texture, Wavelet Sharpened with medium structure size all scales set to 100 and amount set to 1000 to exaggerate sharpness. Color was saturated at 200 percent to show make the sun's edge turn yellow.

Original image: Contains numerous dust bunnies that contaminated the camera.

Image B: "Sunspots" believed to be dust bunnies based on comparison with other images were removed with the StarTools Heal function. An inverted mask was created and the dust bunnies were selected using the "Lasso". StarTools replaces the pixels within the lasso with ones similar to the area just outside the lasso.
