Description

Been away from the forum for a while and have a bit of catching up to on everybody's great work.

NGC 877 (the bigger one) and 876 is the smaller edge one (Aries). Not sure why this is not a more popular target although I found it a difficult one given less than perfect skies. NGC 871 and 870 are the 2 brighter ones to the extreme left of the frame. The low surface bright wispy irregular is UGC 01761 (mag 16.5). Distance estimate of the whole group is in the 150 to 170 million light year range. I think it would be have been better framed centered a bit the left, as there is more stuff just out of frame (next time).

52x600 lum

36x600 total rgb 2x2

I Screwed up and had the camera on high gain for the 2x2 rgb by accident. They were a bit noisy, but used them anyway and kept the saturation to a minimum.

Thanks,

John D
