The latin name of the Beehive cluster (M44 in Cancer) is Praesepe that means "the Manger".
Not coincidentally the two nearby stars (gamma and delta cancri) are called Asellus borealis and Asellus australis: the northern and southern donkeys.

Il nome dell'ammasso aperto M44 nella costellazione del Cancro deriva dal latino Praesepe che significa "la mangiatoia".
Non a caso le due stelle vicine (gamma e delta cancri) si chiamano Asellus borealis e Asellus australis: l'asinello settentrionale e l'asinello merifionale.
