Description

IC 59 and IC 63 are a combination of emission and reflection nebulae, located about 600 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia and they are only 3 to 4 light-years away from Gamma Cassiopeiae. IC 63 is slightly closer to Gamma Cassiopeiae than IC 59 and it appears red of ionized hydrogen. IC 59 is primarily a reflection nebula it appears blue of dust reflected starlight that is passing through it.
