M42 - The Great Orion Nebula

Restacked and reprocessed
Cloudy nights. Icy, snowy weather. Definitely not an amateur astronomer's kind of night. Not to mention that it's been like this for days now. So... what better way to resolve the frustration? Settled down in front of the computer with a nice glass of whiskey, and went to work reprocessing previously acquired data for the first time ever. I discovered tonight that there's a certain joy that comes in revisiting old data. Seems that at the end of a good night's session, I'm itching to "see what I've got". And most of the time I rush through the stacking and processing just so I can witness (and share) the results of my night out. Tonight was the first time that I dedicated an entire evening to making sure that each and every step I took made good sense. Subtlety and finesse were what I strived for tonight. Hope you like it.
