Description

See that bright yellow star, SY Eri with blue companion, little above the center of this image? It's a variable star, ranging from 10.40 to 11.40 (photometric system p, so it says in Stelarium). General magnitude is 8.30.

The field clearly reveals stars 'till some 13.7 magnitude - further into dimness, it drowns more and more into the noise floor, where only my Stellarium can help me spot some 14th+ magnitude *rescapee*.

VERSION B : low res' crop around SY Eri, tweaking with the "LIVE" tools in astrotools : bringing extra diffraction on brighter stars. It does work nicely if not overdone...

As I've got to be patient till I can set up my mount, tomorrow, and try anti pollution filters, here I gave it a try at this field of stars around Cursa, in order to get the better possible color balance, without mount or filters, under my *near an highway's light pollution* sky.

These 15 frames are a 1/3 croped from the original. Shutter was at 1sec3.
