Description

J & K VERSIONS : reloaded this october 2015, here is a quick re-editing on the Jpeg, cropped, re-curved and color balanced... and local contrast work on K : grab all possible details !

:-)

FINAL would be G for the overall balance, noise-free and color (to my taste) but H gives more to see...

> VERSION H : "reloaded" editing on Photoshop : maybe a bit overdone, and I liked the smooth G version, although I felt more details where hiding in this picture. Here they are.

> VERSION G : that's it folks, here's my final choice with this data : reprocessing entirely the wavelet part, than carefuly adjusting the historiogram in PI, I saw appearing the softer image I had in mind. My idea of "natural simplicity"...

StarTools vs PixInsight : the winner is... everybody.

> VERSION E/F : I've been feeling at a stop for some days with PixInsight - overwhelmed by the amount of tools to tweak with... ; seems it's over now :-) This is a first true PI vs StarTools. Can do better, but no doubt : PI is a powerful instrument (P.I. ?).

> VERSION D : my best edit so far, isn't it ?

All the process was made in StarTools 1.3.5 with a cosmetic iPhoto for the final Jpeg conversion. Much straight forward to use than PixInsight, but it doesn't mean it's better once I'll master PI. At least this has a series of more powerful tools (than Nebulosity 3, so it seems tome).

> VERSION B is the 49 frame stack with iPhoto only editing. It looks more natural I suppose, but more details show up in the PI versions... So much to explore!

PI. Difficult program this is ! Complete for sure, but here I am with this sort of overcooked result... I needed to see this online before giving it a better look.

So I took all the valid frames I captured - 49 - resulting in a completely noise free picture. Than I tried some tools in PixInsight. That's all I've got... for now ;-)
