Description

Living in a highly light polluted area I need to use narrow band images. But, I have been trying to figure out the best way to process LRGB. This one turned out pretty well so I thought I would post also my PI recipe for comment.

1. Subframe selection with this selection expression: SNRWeightSigma > -2 && Eccentricity <0.6 && StarSupport > 1050. The StarSupport level is customized to get rid of subs from marginal seeing nights.

2. BatchPreprocessing with Linear Fit. I have not found the dithering helps much.

3. Dynamic Crop of LRGB images.

4. Remove LP gradient with DBE of each LRGB image with 20 (i.e. closely fitting) samples/row. Manually adjust any samples with a star in them (move slightly). Do DBE twice.

5. Linear fit to G of all 4 limages.

6. LRGB Combo of RGB [If I follow above sequence, ColorCalibration may bot be necessary).

7. Stretching with MaskedStretch script (less star bloating) or STF->HT

8. Set black point with HT and CT

9. Add L to RGB image via LRGB combo. L at 0.5 and RGB at 0.2 [drag and drop L on top of RGB].

10. UnsharpMask noise reduction... other noise reduction routines seem to blotch this file.
