Description

Sharpless 308 is a giant bubble mostly of OIII about 5,200 light years away in the constellation Canis Major. I shot this at the Winter Star Party in 2015 and won first place in the deep sky imaging contest. It's a challenging object to acquire and process I think, and I've seen some poor shots of this, and some that are very very much better than this one. Next year I hope to shoot it again and get more data on it. I worked with what I could given the weather this year.
