Description

I am starting a new thread for this processing of the Orion Nebula region as it is a completely different take. Starless images aren't for everyone, but some really enjoy the way that the nebula can be viewed entirely on its own. For some targets, I believe it makes for an extremely interesting perspective on the region. I've never though about processing this region that way, but it was pointed out to me with some of the struggles I was having with undersampled stars in this region, it may be a cool area to do starless. I think I completely agree now. The image was very challenging to process and the starless rendition did not end up as clean as some I have done, however I'm still very excited with the results. There is such structure and depth to the gas in this area that it makes for a beautiful study on its own. As always, I love to hear your commments and critiques and thanks for looking!

Version D is a brightened version for dark monitors.

Please see http://www.astrobin.com/161306/D/ for a version that contains stars!
