Description

First light on my new mount - the Celestron CGE...

I did a *VERY* rough polar alignment - I mean I didn't even look through a scope or anything, I just eyeballed "north" and got everything loaded on the mount and got several 120 second exposures with NO elongation of stars! I am THOROUGHLY impressed with the Celestron CGE mount! I added my guidescope and camera to the mix and successfully guided my longest exposure images yet - 10 X 300s @ ISO100 for this image... Yeah, you can't make out a lot, but DAMN good for first light, right!? Besides, couldn't expect much with an f/3.9 scope and a full moon! LOL!
