Description

VERSION H : after all, I start to understand color balances in Ps and DBE in PI ! This data - my first attempt - is not so rich but at least it looks balanced... to my eye ;-)

Back from Valencia, here is a first draft of this famous target. The data didn't seem so rich at first sight, and with much tweaking - especially in the different color balance modes - I could come up with this.

Definitely, this work needs more subs both for detail and contrast ! Oh well. Next year (and narrow band) should bring more light on this story ;-)

< FINAL (G) : that's it with this data, thanks to selective color and hue, I found a satisfactory balance between the natural reddish tint of the nebula, an increased contrast in fainter parts and a better respect of star colors...

> B VERSION : some pop art ? Strangely enough, the stars look more their natural color here - I haven't pushed the editing process to get all these colors on the nebula - possibly an effect of light pollution.

> C VERSION : stacked and processed an extra 10x 80 sec subs and layered 35% of it in the A Version

> D VERSION : final bit of extra processing with StarTools. On the color side, unless using masks, a certain amount of blue in the nebula seems inevitable in order to preserve some balance for the stars.

> E&F VERSION : adding some of the UHC subs for a little more contrast and minor color corrections.

Tech : 10x 80 sec, 32x 50 sec @1600 iso + some older (6x 310sec) O-III acquisition blended in for greater contrast.
