Description

This evening, from 9:40 till 11:40, I had a short 2 hours to pack as many subs as I could before the full moon would be too high (15°) up in the sky, I started this project : IC 443, the Medusa nebula in UHC and broadband combine - Ha next week if the weather allows !

This is a crop around the most obvious details.

Provided I had no idea if anything would show at all... I'm quite pleased with this first hour of acquisition.

VERSION D : stacked separately the 14 broadband subs, removed soft gradients one by one, merging it with the 8 UHC subs, than extracted the L channel and did a 2x2 bin : here it is.

VERSION E : merging 25% of this L channel and boosted the saturation on the color channel.

VERSION F : Can you see the Medusa appearing ?

VERSION G : pushed to the extreme - noisy and not pretty, in order to check what's hiding in there ; tonight, I've got another hour to grab 7 or 8 more subs. Will do longer exposures.

Been mixing 50% of these

> H - VERSION : added 20 x 150 sec broadband @ 2000iso ; what a mixture ! The general structure is slowly starting to emerge. 50 more subs on their way right now :-)

6 x 330" subs (@ 3200iso in UHC)

TECH SPEC (Version A to E) : 8x 300" UHC subs @ 3200iso + 14x 75" @ 1600iso
