Description

M 38 is an Open Cluster (also known as NGC 1912) which is located in the constellation Auriga. It was discovered by Giovanni Batista Hodierna before 1654 and independently found by Le Gentil in 1749. It was recorded by Charles Messier in September 25, 1764.

This large cluster has over 100 member stars which is located 4,200 light years from earth.
