Description

Taken 20101102, 20101110, 20101111, 20101112

This beautiful galaxy cluster can be found in the constellation Perseus. Although many of the members are elliptical galaxies, there are a number of spirals and irregulars.

In particular, PGC 12490 is deep blue at the top-left.

NGC 1275 is the heart of the cluster just down and left of center with tendrils of gas and star forming regions.

At the top, PGC 12397 is very colorful and has a lovely teardrop shape.

At the right, spiral galaxy NGC 1268 stands out amongst the others.
