      Description

The lens is stopped down to approximately F3.5. Two cameras are used: Nikon D800 and Canon EOS 5D2, both modified. (D800: 3 min * 34 @ ISO 800; 5D2: 2 min * 52 @ ISO 1600) D800 only contributes to data in the upper-right corner (roughly 1/3 of the total image area), including the Antares region. The integration time from each of D800 and 5D2 is 1.7 hr.

      Three versions are provided:

Original: the version with data from 5D2 only.

Ver D (final): the version with data from both 5D2 and D800. The upper-right corner (about 1/3 of the total image area, including the Antares region) is contributed by D800. The remaining 2/3 of the image is contributed by 5D2. By comparing Ver C with the original, you can see how superior D800 is in terms of image sharpness and sensitivity to faint nebulas.
