Description

I am not sure how many of you picked up on my recent developments, but my ZWO ASI294MC went down and I got an insurance pay out for it. As I already have the monochrome version of this camera, I took the big decision not to replace the camera, but instead, after much thought, get myself a Classic Cassegrain, which has an 8 inch mirror and runs at f12. My hope is that I will be able to use this for planetary and lunar work, and for certain DSOs. I managed, whilst the weather held, to image M57 in luminance. I need to improve on the balance of the scope, and it was a bit of impulsive decision to image M57 at the time I did, but I am really pleased with the result because the f12 focal length means that I have been able to pick details out from within the nebula, that get blown out when using my other telescopes. I did nothing fancy here, it was just a basic process. I took 53 subs at 2 minutes long each, which totals 1 hour and 46 minutes imaging time. Thanks everyone...
