Description

NGC 6764 (also IRAS 19070+5051, MCG 8-35-3, UGC 11407 and PGC 62806) is a magnitude +11.9 SBb galaxy located 111 million light-years away in the constellation Cygnus very near the Draco border. An AGN starburst galaxy.

The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis Swift using a 40.64 cm (16 inch) refractor on the 4th July 1885.
